During my art residency at Villa Lena, I've decided to explore even further the infinite gifts of nature. I spent these two months digging deep within my practise, as well as trying out new techniques, such as natural dyes.
I was lucky enough to be approached by the founder of Goooders, and editor of Vanity Fair Italia, Eva Geraldine Fontanelli, to work on a very limited collection of dresses. The capsule collection consisted in four pieces, each of them tailored by the women at Cooperativa Alice and hand dyed by myself, solely by using locally foraged ingredients or food scraps* from the kitchen at Villa Lena.
The response to this project has been great, with the dresses selling within 48hours from the launch, and all profits donated to the Cooperative.
Goooders, Cooperativa Alice and I, are planning to work on more collaborations in the near future. More information will be available soon.
*the ingredients used to dye the dresses: avocado pits + skins, red onion skins (food scraps from the kitchen at VL) and pomegranate flowers (from the trees found on the property of VL).
